The new ME

The old me would have already thrown in the towel.

I would have already given up. With the new pregnancy development, the old me would have already stocked the fridge with yummy treats, for the baby of course! I would have stopped exercising because I was too tired.

But, the new me is still trying to eat healthy. (despite the cravings and fatigue) I am still working out. :) I know that as I get further along, it will be harder. I will be more tired and have more nausea, at least until I'm 15 or 16 weeks along. I will take it one day at a time. I'm trying to make sure that I am not eating anything with artificial sweeteners in it. Any great suggestions for yogurt? I am dying at how many calories the reg. yogurts have.

  1. Have you thought about sweetening some yogurt with plain fruit, perhaps with some Stevia? While it is not "sugar", it is not artificial either, in that it is not man-made.

  2. I was never much of one for sweets in the first trimester, so I can't so much help there. Instead, I'd do things like eat salsa by the bowl.

  4. I have found that having a very LITTLE bit of yogurt on some berries is really good, and low calorie, because berries are so low cal. So instead of a whole cup of yogurt at 200+ calories a cup, you could have 1/4 cup of yogurt mixed in a whole bowl of berries. If fresh berries aren't an option, the bags of frozen berries are great. Also other bags of frozen fruit... they are staples in my diet! Replaced my old ice-cream habit. I just partially thaw them so they are soft enough to eat.

  5. Congratulations on the pregnancy! Hope it all goes smoothly for you... As someone who was told she'd never be able to have kids, only to find herself expecting at the age of 38, it was a bit of a shock! I already weighed 270lbs when I conceived and managed to gain a further 80lbs during the course of the pregnancy... :o(

Hope you are able to keep on track and have a healthy and happy pregnancy. :o)

  6. Stoneyfield fruit on the bottom stawberry and blueberry only has 120 calories. No fake sugar! It's very yummy.

  7. WOW, I missed this! Congrats!

My sisters both worked out right up to their "drop" date & had very easy labors. Not saying this is the rule but it worked for them with approval from their docs.

As for yogurt, stick to the plain as the fruit flavored ones have lots of sugar grams. I use non-fat Greek yogurt & sweeten with vanilla flavored stevia or plain & I add my own frozen or fresh fruit to it so I can control that. Being pregnant, your doc may suggest low fat vs. non fat yogurt but that is your/their call.

    Hang in there!
